Foundations of Capability

This is the first in the introductory series of courses for CMMI V2.0 and is a pre-requisite for taking the CMMI Associate exam or for attendance on one of the Building Excellence courses. Through a mixture of exercises, lectures and class discussions, the Foundations of Capability course will teach you how to use the CMMI V2.0 Model and explain the business value that can be gained by improving your organization’s capability. Successful completion of this course will give you one attempt at the CMMI Associate exam and provides the necessary foundation knowledge to prepare you to take one or more of the subsequent Building Excellence courses.

Course Outline

This course is spread over 18 modules which are delivered over a 2 day period through a combination of lectures, group and individual exercises, and class discussions and activities.
The modules cover the core content of the CMMI and encourage students to use the CMMI Model viewer throughout. The emphasis is not on pure model content but on the practical use of the model to improve organisational performance and capability.
